Haluska, John P. Jr., 84, Richland.   Died January 21, 2011 at Good Samaritan Palliative Care Unit.  Born November 2, 1926 in Johnstown.  Son of the late John and Anna (Verbyar) Haluska.  Also preceded in death by brothers; Paul Verbiar, Andy Verbjar, sister; Margaret Babish.  Survived by loving wife of 59 years, the former Ann (Gagan) and these children; J. Reid, married to the former Cathy (Dayton) of Geistown; Gordy, married to the former Kim (Mattern) of Richland; Mark and special friend, Sherry Rigo of Johnstown; and Maryann, wife of Jim Napier of Akron, OH.  Grandchildren; Steve, Amy, wife of Michael  Toth, Garrett, Courtney, Paige, Sally, Michael and Grand puppies, Lexie Lou & Schatzie Too.  Brother of Barbara Jartin, Julia Boser and Florence Haluska.  Also numerous nieces and nephews.  1945 graduate of Johnstown High School.   John was a WWII Army Air Force Veteran, serving in Italy.  He formerly  worked at Miller’s Barber Shop in Moxham and later owned John’s Barber & Styling shop in Geistown.  Member of St. Benedict’s Catholic Church, Geistown and a member of the Metro Minor Bowling league for over 40 years.  He was a loving husband, father and Grandfather who enjoyed oil painting, watching sports (An avid New York Yankees Fan), gardening & especially family gatherings.  Friends received from noon to 5:00 p.m. Sunday at The Harris Funeral Home, 500 Cherry Lane, Richland, where Vigil Service will be held.  Funeral Mass at 10:00 a.m. Monday at St. Benedict’s Church.  Father David S. Peles, Pastor.  Committal at St. Joseph Cemetery Mausoleum with Military Rites by Menoher Post #155, VFW, Ritual Team. Family suggests for those who wish to donate to St. Benedict’s Catholic Church, 2306 Bedford St., Johnstown, PA 15904, in Memory of John.
