MAHAN---Joann L., 93, of Upper Yoder Township, went to be with the Lord on September 22, 2023 at Laurelwood Care Center, Johnstown. Born on March 10, 1930 in Johnstown, daughter of Joseph A. Sr. and Virginia M. (Rievel) Gyan. Preceded in death by her parents and husband of 56 years, Carl L. Mahan. Joann was a 1948 graduate of the former Johnstown Central Catholic High School. She retired from M. Glosser and Sons Inc., where she was employed as a bookkeeper. Joann was a former member of Visitation of the BVM Catholic Church, where she sang in the choir and was a Eucharistic Minister. She was also a former member of the Polish Heritage Choir, the Altoona-Johnstown Diocese Cursillo movement and its Prison ministry and also the St. Padre Pio Prayer group. Joann was a member of St. Patrick Catholic Church and its choir. She enjoyed crocheting and sewing. Joann loved life, traveling and taking cruises with her husband, Carl. Friends will be received at 9 a.m. Tuesday, October 3, 2023 at Harris Funeral Home, 500 Cherry Lane, Richland, followed by Funeral Mass at 10 a.m. at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church, with Very Rev. Matthew Baum. Committal, Grandview Cemetery. Joann’s wish was that memorial contributions be directed to St. Patrick Catholic Church, 609 Park Ave., Johnstown, PA 15902 for Masses in her memory.
