SCOFIELD---James Davis, 86, Richland, died on November 12, 2021. Born January 8, 1935, in Wauseon, Ohio, son of John R. and Kathryn (Davis) Scofield. Preceded in death by parents; brothers, Jack and Dick Scofield. Survived by wife of 30 years, Debra L. Taczanowsky; children, Marcus Taczanowksy, Johnstown; Craig (Gretchen Davis) Taczanowsky, Beaver, PA; Tonya Taczanowsky, Myrtle Beach, SC; grandchildren, Darious Chatman, Beaver, PA; Damian Davis, Beaver, PA; Lexus Taczanowksy, Beaver, PA; and Tatum Taczanowsky, Beaver. Also survived by friends, Larry and Chrissy Blalock and his political and golf friends and many others. Jim taught English Literature at UPJ for over 30 years. He wrote editorials for the Tribune-Democrat for many years. He was an avid reader and enjoyed traveling, playing golf and bird watching. Jim enjoyed writing, especially poetry and liked talking politics. Jim was a member of the NAACP and National Organization for Women (NOW) and Citizens for Social Responsibility. Jim will be remembered as a kind person who was very giving and donated to charities that were important to him. The family will welcome family and friends to a Memorial Service at 2 p.m. on Thursday, November 18, 2021 at Harris Funeral Home, 500 Cherry Lane, Richland with his wife, Debra Taczanowsky officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial donations to the local chapter of the NAACP, P.O.
