James A. Myers III, 49, passed away unexpectedly on June 6, 2026. Born on May 23, 1977, in Johnstown, he was the son of the late James Myers Jr. and Roxanne Myers, Johnstown.
In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his brother, Stephen Holmes; grandparents, Daniel and Dessie Jenkins, James Myers Sr. and Naomi McNair; beloved dogs, Kayoz, and Hemmie.
He is survived by his wife of 26 years, Beth Thomas; his beloved daughters, Shaelynn and Lariah, who were the pride and joy of his life; his mother, Roxanne Myers; his sisters, Stephanie, Jainea, Kennetha, and Carle; in-laws, Tom and Linda Lear, Johnstown; numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins; his whole PA Elite softball family, and his, beloved dog, Stormi.
Jimmy will be remembered as a devoted father, loving partner, dedicated coach, and loyal friend. His legacy and contagious laugh will live on through the many lives he influenced, and he will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
The family would also like to recognize his special friend, Samantha McClelland, whose selfless gift of a kidney gave Jimmy a new chance at life.
Jimmy was a 1995 graduate of Johnstown High School. He was employed with the Alleghenies Unlimited Care Providers as a van driver, and was also the Bishop McCort head softball coach. He was also the President of PA Elite Fastpitch Softball. Jimmy dedicated more than 20 years to coaching softball and baseball, impacting countless young athletes, both on and off the field. He was known for his passion of the game, his commitment to his players and the friendships he built throughout his community. More than anything, Jimmy loved spending time with his family, as well as his softball family.
