DANIELS---Jack Ruckser, 79, of Bulverde, Texas, went to be with the Lord on February 3, 2026. Born on May 18, 1946, in Johnstown, Pennsylvania, Jack was a man of steadfast character whose life was defined by his devotion to his family. Jack was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Barbara Daniels; his parents, James and Helen Daniels; his brothers, James Jr. and David; and his sisters, Jane, Alice, Phyllis, and Bette. He is survived and deeply loved by his children: Melissa Daniels, Jacquelyn Daniels, and Jack Daniels. His legacy lives on through his four grandchildren: Jesse Vega, Nicole Daniels, Sarah Rothenbeck, and Channing Daniels; and his great-grandchild, Carter Ayres. He is also survived by his sisters, Linda Gianakos and Helen Wainwright; several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews, and cousins; and a special bond with his nephew, Ron Wainwright, and his wife, Kathy. Jack, a graduate of East Conemaugh High School, passed away leaving a legacy of hard work, service, and devotion. A proud U.S. Marine Corps Veteran, Jack served with honor during the Vietnam War from 1965-1967. His commitment to service continued into his professional life in California, where he dedicated 30 years to the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power. He retired in 2014 as a Senior Electrical Repairman, respected by his colleagues for his skill and reliability. Jack found his greatest peace in the simple things: sitting on his patio, the tug of a fishing line, shooting excursions, the excitement of a casino trip, and the quiet ritual of tending to his garden—a passion passed down to him by his father. He was rarely seen without his loyal companion, Zack, by his side. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle, cousin and friend. His presence was a cornerstone for his family, and he will be deeply missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him. Friends and family will be received from 11:00 a.m. until time of Funeral Service at 12:00 p.m. noon on Friday, February 20, 2026 at the Harris Funeral Home, 500 Cherry Lane, Johnstown, PA (Richland). Entombment will follow at Grandview Cemetery with military rites. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to Paralyzed Veterans of America at www.pva.org in memory of Jack R. Daniels.
