Irene S. McKinley

McKinley, Irene S., 92, of Richland Township, went to be with the Lord on April 14, 2017 at Cambria Care Center. She was born on August 17, 1924 in Somerset County. Daughter of Uriah and Maggie (Thomas) Blough. Preceded in death by parents; stepmother, Daisy Blough; husband, Charles R. McKinley; brothers, Morgan and Vernon; sisters, Naomi Blough and Nellie Cochran; 5 step brothers; 4 step sisters; sisters-in-law, Esther Blough and Geneva Blough. She is survived by her loving children, James, married to the former Carol Houser, Dilltown, PA, Robert, married to Nancy, Greensburg, PA and Barbara A., wife of Mark Alt, Carlisle, PA; grandchildren, Heather Resbeck, Matthew (Lisa) McKinley, Ashley Alt, Aaron Alt, Dennis (Barbara) Hawk and Renee Hawk; great grandson, Christopher Matthew McKinley, and niece, Belinda (Al) Stein, Richland Township. When Irene came to Johnstown, she was employed at the Acme Bakery but was swept off her feet by her husband, Charles and never worked outside the home again. She was a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church and enjoyed knitting, her grandchildren and serving at the church for over 50 years. Friends will be received from 11 A.M. until time of service at 2 P.M. on Thursday at Harris Funeral Home, 500 Cherry Lane, Richland Township, with the Rev. David Streets officiating. Private inurnment will be at Thomas Mennonite Cemetery. The family suggests contributions be directed to Emmanuel Missions Fund, 425 Luther Road, Johnstown, PA 15904 in memory of Irene.
