Helen Poloyac

Poloyac – Helen, 102, Franklin Borough, went to be with the Lord on December 8, 2017 at St. Jude’s Haven Personal Care Home. Born on January 22, 1915 in Johnstown, daughter of Sam and Milka (Vujcic) Blagovich. Preceded in death by her parents; husband, John D. Poloyac; daughter, Desa Carol Poloyac; brothers, Bob and Mark. She is survived by her loving son, John Dushan, married to the former Agnes J. Poborsky; grandchildren, Denise S. Poloyac, Karen A. Arcurio, Helen C., wife of Richard Lee, John D., married to the former Darla James, and Sam M, married to the former Kris Newcomb; great grandchildren, Johnny, (Melissa) Poloyac, Alyssa (Christian) Terchanik, Mitchell Poloyac and his dear friend, Jessica Toth, Katelyn and Michael Arcurio, and Sam Poloyac, and great-great grandson, John “Jay” Poloyac. Helen was a member of St. Peter and Paul Ukrainian Church. She enjoyed cooking, a good laugh, and had a wonderful sense of humor. Helen loved her entire family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was blessed on November 28, 2016 with the birth of her great-great grandson and fifth generation, Jay. Friends will be received from 4-8 p.m. on Tuesday at the Baker-Harris Funeral Chapel, 229-231 First Street, Conemaugh, where Parastas will be served at 7:30 p.m. Funeral Service will be held at 10 a.m. on Wednesday at St. Peter and Paul Ukrainian Church, Fr. Mark Phillips, Pastor. Committal will be at St. Petka Cemetery. The family suggests contributions be directed to either St. Peter and Paul Ukrainian Church, 1233 St Clair Rd, Johnstown, PA 15905 or to St. Jude’s Haven Personal Care Home, 1072 Mt Airy Dr, Johnstown, PA 15904 in memory of Helen.
