Helen was true to her own feisty, fun-loving personality. She was a caring homemaker who raised her family. She took much pride in her home and had every detail in order. Throughout her life, she worked alongside her husband in their residential home building business, often leading design choices and material negotiations. Helen was a talented decorator and greatly enjoyed shopping. Helen was a member of the St. Peter and Paul Orthodox Christian Church and enjoyed singing in the choir. She could make a room erupt with laughter with her unapologetic honesty, which was always presented in a charming and endearing manner. Helen was tremendously proud of her children and grandchildren’s accomplishments and her home boasted photos of those she cherished. During holidays, Helen could be found challenging her family to a game of Rummy. Helen was immensely adored by her family, whose lives are forever enriched because of her giving and joyous presence. The family would like to thank everyone who assisted Helen. Special thanks to Linda and Lynn.
At Helen’s request, there will be no public viewing. Private Funeral Service will be held at the Harris Funeral Home, 500 Cherry Lane, Richland, with The Very Reverend Miles P. Zdinak. Private Committal will be at Richland Cemetery. The family suggests contributions be directed to St. Peter and Paul Orthodox Christian Church, 141 Hoffman Drive Road, Windber, PA 15963 in memory of Helen.
