Hazel Lorena Andri

Andri – Hazel Lorena, 104, formerly of Summit, NJ, passed away on October 23, 2023 at Maple Heights Rehabilitation Center, Ebensburg, PA. Born on December 25, 1918 in Weston, MA, daughter of William and Myrtle (Shipley) Mailman. Preceded in death by her parents; husband, Fred and eleven siblings.

She is survived by her loving sister, Ethel (Paul) Ennis, MA, and numerous nieces and nephews, including special nephew, Daniel (Kim) Mailman, Nanty Glo.

Hazel retired from Chubb Insurance after many years of service. In her younger years, she loved to ball room dance in dance studios in NY; golf and play tennis. She was a remarkable, strong-willed woman who was able to live independently to nearly 101 years of age with the help of her wonderful neighbors, Marie Kelly and SAGE Eldercare in Summit, NJ.

A fall in November 2019 resulted in a neck fracture which prompted her to move to Ebensburg to be closer to her family.

At Hazel’s request, there will be no public viewing or service. Private inurnment will be held at Forest Lawn Memorial Park.
