Harry J. Swain, Jr.

Swain, Harry J. Jr., 84, of Richland. Passed away Jan. 1, 2018, at Conemaugh Medical Center. Born Aug. 27, 1933, in Johnstown. Son of the late Harry Sr. and Evelyn (Noon) Swain. Also preceded in death by maternal grandparents, Thomas E. and Maude Noon; sisters, Barbara A. and Carol J. Guy. Survived by wife of 54 years, Shirley C. (Yoder); and brother, Thomas Swain; also, numerous nieces and nephews. Harry served in the U.S. Air Force. 1952 graduate of Dale High School. Attended Marshall University and graduated from Allegheny Community College in 1974. He retired from Allegheny County Dept. of Welfare. During his youth, he played basketball and baseball. An avid fisherman and golfer. Friends received 2-4 and 6-8 PM Thursday at Harris Funeral Home, 500 Cherry Lane, Richland, where service will be held at 10:30 AM Friday. Revs. David Stains and Carl F. Irwin, Jr., officiating. Private interment at Forest Lawn Memorial Park. Family suggests donations to Beulah United Methodist Church, 716 Bedford St., Johnstown, PA 15902 in memory of Harry.
