Feller – H. Richard, 88, Johnstown, went to be with the Lord on May 1, 2026 at home. Born on October 19, 1937 in Cumberland, MD, son of Harry M. and Mildred V. (Arnold) Feller. Preceded in death by his parents; son, Donald B. Hovis, and sons-in-law, Douglas Crabb and Neal Fulton.
He is survived by his loving wife of 48 years, Joselyn N. (Hower) Feller; children, Dr. Todd (Betty) Hovis, Columbus, TX, Kathy L. Crabb, York, SC, and Leslie R. Fulton, Colonial Beach, VA; grandchildren, Mark, Michael, David, and Jacob Fulton, Jennifer, Douglas, and Shannon Crabb, Wesley, Melanie, Marina, and Ethan Hovis, Brandon and Bailey Grissom, and Crystal Hovis; 16 great grandchildren, including great grandson, Connor Hovis, who spent most of his time with Richard and Joselyn; several cousins, and many friends.
Richard was a 1956 graduate of Fort Hill High School, Cumberland, MD. He later graduated from the University of Pittsburgh with a Masters in Engineering. Richard was a US Air Force Veteran. He retired in 1999 from UPJ as a Professor in Engineering. Richard was an active member of the First Presbyterian Church in Johnstown, where he held many positions and taught Bible studies. He enjoyed wood working, reading, and golfing. Richard loved spending time with his entire family, especially his grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Friends will be received from 3-7 p.m. on Thursday at Harris Funeral Home, 500 Cherry Lane, Richland, and from 10 a.m. until time of service at 11 a.m. on Friday at the First Presbyterian Church in Johnstown, with the Rev. Danielle Kendig officiating. Entombment will be at Richland Mausoleum. The family suggests contributions be directed to the First Presbyterian Church, 309 Lincoln St, Johnstown, PA 15901 in memory of Richard.
