Cox, Harry J. “Handsome”, 80, of Richland. Died Oct. 22, 2017, at home. Born Oct. 9, 1937, in Johnstown. Son of the late Russell and Barbara (Shaffer) Cox. Also preceded in death by sisters, Gloria Shaffer, Doris Mohle and Audrey Feathers; and brother Russell “Pat” Cox. Survived by wife of 51 years, Ruth (Noon); son Brian (Tina) Cox, Windber; and daughter, Arlene Stephens, Johnstown; grandchildren, Cristeen, Christopher, Carey, Craig, Kaitlyn, Kortni and Calvin; and 5 great grandchildren; sister in law, Betty Cox, Lancaster County; and numerous nieces and nephews. Also, his four-legged companion, Lady. He retired after 45 years with Chapple Bros. Roofing and Spouting. Harry was a former usher at St. Benedict Catholic Church, Geistown, with his father. He enjoyed fishing, horseshoes and playing cards. Harry also greatly enjoyed his grandchildren and great grandchildren. Friends received from 3 to 7 PM Wednesday at Harris Funeral Home, 500 Cherry Lane, Richland, where service will be held at 7 PM. Fr. Scott Lill, officiating. Private inurnment.
