CALDERWOOD---Glenn J., 94, Portage, died January 20, 2024 at Maple Heights Health & Rehabilitation Center. Born May 24, 1929 in Dunlo, son of the late John and Esther (Harrison) Calderwood. Preceded in death by first wife, Elsie (Reeves) and second wife, Carol A. (Helsel); and sister, Martha Louise Holdsworth. Survived by step-daughter, Dorothy (Ted) Luciano and step-son, James (Jena) Helsel; 7 step-grandchildren and 10 step-great-grandchildren. Member of the Portage American Legion. Life member of D.A.V. Glenn was retired from Conrail, Penn Central and the Pennsylvania Railroad. He was also retired from being a newspaper route carrier. From 1982-2006, he was the Republican petition carrier who gathered more signatures than any other Republican in Cambria County. Glenn was a Portage Township Republican committee person and was also a lifelong Pittsburgh Pirates and Steelers fan. Family and friends are invited to a visitation on Thursday Jan. 25 from 10 am to 11am when  his life will be remembered and celebrated at Harris Funeral Home, 500 Cherry Lane, Richland, with military rites by the Portage Ritual Team. Private interment at Dunmyer Cemetery. The family suggests memorial contributions to the. Cambria Co. Humane Society, 743 Galleria Dr. Ext., Johnstown, PA 15904 or Portage American Legion, 230 Lee St., Portage, PA 15946 in memory of Glenn J. Calderwood.
