Gladys Louise Howard

Howard – Gladys Louise, 93, Johnstown, went to be with the Lord on April 21, 2025 at The Villa Personal Care Home, Johnstown. Born on April 8, 1932 in Johnstown, daughter of Cletus and Mildred (Ramsey) Harr. Preceded in death by her parents; husband, Ralph J. Howard; siblings, Charles, Cletus, Robert, Laverne, and Barbara.

She is survived by her loving son, Edward F. (Christine) Fisher, Johnstown; granddaughter, Katie A. (Daniel) Vavrek, Pittsburgh; brother, Donald (Hope) Harr, Johnstown; sister-in-law, Lida Harr, Mineral Point and several nieces and nephews.

Gladys was a graduate of Greater Johnstown High School. She retired from the former Lee Hospital after numerous years of service as an Admissions Clerk. Gladys was a member of the former Park Avenue United Methodist Church. She enjoyed BINGO, polka dancing, trips to the casino, camping, and boating. Gladys loved her cats, and especially her family dearly.

At Gladys’s request, there will be no public viewing. A private funeral service will be held at the convenience of the family at the Harris Funeral Home, 500 Cherry Lane, Richland, with the Rev. James Gay officiating. Private entombment will be at Richland Cemetery Mausoleum. The family suggests contributions be directed to the Humane Society of Cambria County, 743 Galleria Dr. Ext, Johnstown, PA 15904 in memory of Gladys.
