CEGLAR---George, 78, Early, Texas, formerly of Johnstown, passed away suddenly in Early, on April 24, 2026. Born on May 17, 1947 in Johnstown, PA to George and Dorothy Ceglar. George lived a full and vibrant life marked by humor, love, and a deep appreciation for family and adventure.

George will be remembered as a natural storyteller who could light up any room. He had a playful spirit, a quick wit and a gift for making others laugh. He was warm, devoted and endlessly proud of his family, especially his beloved wife, Andrea, with whom he shared 31 wonderful years of marriage. He had a passion for life’s simple joys. George loved Harley-Davidson motorcycles, followed NASCAR with enthusiasm, and was a devoted fan of rock and roll especially his favorite band, Led Zeppelin. One of his favorite sayings, “nobody’s fault but mine,” reflected both his love of music and his independent spirit. He also shared a special bond with his loyal four-legged companions, Angel, Tammy, and Tex.

George worked at Mine 78 in Windber, PA, and later retired in 2010 from the Cambria County Transit Authority in Johnstown, PA, where he was known for his strong work ethic and personable nature.

He also leaves behind his cherished grandchildren: Matthew Barnhart, Jr. and his wife, Jennifer, and Truitt Barnhart all of Coleman, TX and Joanna, Victoria, Jolene, Alana, Carlin, Daniel and Diana Barcela of Kalamazoo, MI.

He is also survived by his sisters-in-law Linda Hiteshew and her husband, Richard of Windber PA, and Susan Barnhart of Tuscola, TX; special cousins, Kathy Lentz and her husband Jerry, and Carleen Ceglar, all of Johnstown, PA; his niece, Rebecca Barnhart and her husband, Russell Kotzur of Early, TX; and his nephews, Nick Hiteshew and his wife Heather, and Dan Hiteshew and his wife Victoria, and their daughter, Olivia, all of Windber, PA.
