Gary J. Stoup

STOUP---Gary J., 69, Johnstown, passed away on May 5, 2024 at Memorial Medical Center. Born August 28, 1954, son of James P. and Beverly J. (Driggs) Stoup. Preceded in death by parents and sister, Karen Crotzer. Survived by life partner of 20 years, Denise Reifer; and son, Jessi Stoup, Latrobe; also survived by his beloved canine companion, Tess. Brother of Joanne Beck, Johnstown. Gary worked at the American Red Cross for over 25 years. He was a huge fan of Penn State sports and also the Pittsburgh Steelers and the Pirates. He enjoyed golfing and trout fishing for many years. Gary took great pride in the care and appearance of his lawn and garden. Denise, Gary and Tess visited the Outer Banks twice a year for many years and that was their happy place together. The family will receive friends from 3 to 7 p.m. Monday, May 13, 2024 at Harris Funeral Home, 500 Cherry Lane, Richland. Funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, May 14, 2024 at St. Benedict Catholic Church, Fr. David S. Peles. Committal, St. Joseph Cemetery.
