Eyvonne R. Gaston

Gaston – Eyvonne R., 66, Johnstown, passed away suddenly due to an unexpected illness on July 22, 2018 at Conemaugh Medical Center. Born on December 17, 1951 in Johnstown, daughter of Donald R. and Margaret Eyvonne Anderson. Preceded in death by her parents, and niece, Christeena Anderson. She is survived by her loving sons, Aaron C., (Carolina), Enola, PA and Dr. Jeremy R., (Roxanna), Havre de Grace, MD; grandchildren, Tiffany, Katheryn, Ethan, and Thalia; siblings, Dr. Donald Edward (Teena), Greenville, SC, Donna A. (Anthony) Horbal, Pittsburgh, Jeffrey C. (Mary), Johnstown, Cynthia J. (Gregory) Novak, Canandaigua, NY, and Christel J. (Rob) Furry, Orlando, FL, and many beloved nieces and nephews. Eyvonne was a 1969 graduate of Johnstown High School. She retired from Conemaugh Memorial Center after many years of service as a Registered Radiologic Technologist. Eyvonne earned the Clinical Teacher of the Year award in 1996. She enjoyed reading and traveling to be with family. Eyvonne was very proud of her sons’ accomplishments and loved being with them and their families. She was affectionately referred to as “Grandma Vonnie”. Friends will be received from 5-7 p.m. on Tuesday at the Harris Funeral Home, 500 Cherry Lane, Richland and from 10 a.m. until time of service at 11 a.m. on Wednesday at Belmont United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Jean A. Smith officiating. Private inurnment. The family suggests contributions be directed to the American Cancer Society, 351 Budfield St, Johnstown, PA 15904 in memory of Eyvonne.
