Evelyn L. "Ev" Bloom

BLOOM—Evelyn L. “Ev,” 90, Richland, passed away on June 2, 2026 at Memorial Medical Center. Born July 26, 1935, in Johnstown, daughter of Earl and Emma (Schmidt) Potter. Preceded in death by parents; first husband, Walter Bloom; siblings, Helen King, Erma Heider, Alice George, Marie McLaughlin, Eugene Potter and Robert Potter. Survived by husband of 50 years, Kenneth H. Bloom, step-son, Kenneth C. Bloom and girlfriend, Lisa, Landisburg, PA; Richard Bloom and wife, Crystal, Patton; grandchildren, Kenneth Bloom and wife, Courtney Delora Bloom; and Dakota Bloom and wife, Kolea and great-granddaughter, Eloise Bloom. Also survived by sister-in-law, Joyce Karafa and husband, Gerald, Johnstown; special niece, Vickie Howard and numerous nieces and nephews. Ev was retired from the Bethlehem Steel Wire Mill where she worked as an administrative assistant. She loved to walk her dog, Buddy. She and Ken enjoyed nature and taking rides in the car and Ev and Buddy also liked to watch Ken care for their yard. The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until time of Funeral Service at 11 a.m., Friday, June 5, 2026 at Harris Funeral Home, 500 Cherry Lane, Richland. Interment, Richland Cemetery.
