Horner – Emily I., 96, Salix, went to be with the Lord on September 6, 2024 at her home. Born on July 23, 1928 in Altoona, PA, daughter of Goldie (Yoder) Baserman. Preceded in death by her mother; husband, Warren H. Horner; daughter, Carol L. Horner; granddaughters, Carrie Horner, and Christy Roberts; grandsons, Kenny, and Scott Stuart, and son-in-law, Harry Stuart.
She is survived by her loving children, Linda M. Stuart, Dunlo, PA, Marlyn W., married to the former Linda Williams, Chambersburg, PA, and Martha J., wife of Robert Lapinsky, Sidman, PA; grandchildren, Tracy (Ray) Rase, David (Amber) Horner, Bobbi (Alan) Thomas, Trina Lapinsky, and Justin (Roxanne) Horner; 14 great grandchildren, and a great-great granddaughter on the way. Emily is also survived by an extended family, including Mark Roberts, Tim Stuart, and Julia Horner as well as several nieces and nephews.
Emily was a graduate of Richland High School. She was a member of Salix Bethel Church; life member the Dunlo American Legion Post # 573, Ladies Auxiliary, and Adams Township Farm Women. Emily enjoyed painting, polkas, and her flowers. She especially loved family reunions, and will be remembered as a care giver who loved babysitting. Emily’s family would like to thank her neighbors for watching out for her, Pro Disposal crew, who went above and beyond, Wade, the newspaper delivery man, Penn Health/Hospice staff, and all her friends who assisted her.
Friends will be received from 10 a.m. until time of service at 11 a.m. on Wednesday at the Harris Funeral Home, 500 Cherry Lane, Richland, with Dr. Chad Brown, Pastor. Private interment will be at Richland Cemetery. Online condolences may be posted to www.wharrisfuneralhome.com.
