Duane G. "Clausy" Miller

Miller, Duane G., “Clausy”, 68, of Adams Township, passed away on July 17, 2011at Memorial Medical Center. He was born August 13, 1942 in Salix, PA. Son of the late Joseph J. and Lola V. (Hoffman) Miller. In addition to his parents he is preceded in death by brother, John and sisters, Arlene and Diane. Survived by his wife of 46 years, Delores E. (Alters) Miller, Adams Township; children, Pamela A. wife of John Peters, St. Michael, Alica J. MCCarty, Summerhill, Mark D. married to the former Crystal Mucker, Adams Township, Matthew A. Miller, Johnstown and April M. Nastase, Johnstown; grandchildren, Brittany, Michael and Ashley Peters, Mandy and John Jr. McCarty, Breonna and Ryan Miller, Sierra Miller, Justin Hovanac, Jade, David and Lexus Nastase; great-grandchildren, Brady and Kaycie Wills; siblings, Violet wife of Clarence Smith, Winchester, VA, Gary married to the former Charlotte Black, Sidman, Marilynn wife of Kenneth Burkey, Vinco, Sherry wife of Michael Keenan, Winchester, VA; several nieces, nephews; his special puppy and friend, Haley and many friends, including special friends, Fred Krammer, Geistown Borough, Joseph Erb, Salix and Charlie Wilson, Johnstown. Duane retired from Cooney Brothers Coal Company, where he was employed as a heavy equipment operator for 33 years. He was a member of Bethel United Methodist Church, Salix, PA. Duane enjoyed working on cars, fishing, hunting and going to his camp, but loved spending time with his entire family especially Haley. Friends received from 2-9 P.M. on Tuesday and from 10 A.M. until time of service at 11 A.M. on Wednesday at the Harris Funeral Home, 500 Cherry Lane, Richland, with the Rev. Donald Poole officiating.
