Boroumand – Dr. Masood, “Dr. B.”, 77, Richland, passed away on March 17, 2019 at Jefferson Hospital, Jefferson Hills, PA. Born on December 30, 1941 in Hamadan, Iran, son of the late Ali and Ahktar (Mustafi) Boroumand. He is survived by his loving sons, Amir (Beth), Pittsburgh and Kia (Aubrey Saccol), both of Richland; mother of Masood’s children, Partow Nader, Pittsburgh; sister, Giti (Hossein) Ahmadi, Iran and several nieces and nephews. Dr. Boroumand graduated from Tehran Medical School in 1968. He practiced at various places until he opened his own private pediatric practice at Windber Hospital in 1987, where he practiced until he retired in 2018. Dr. Boroumand was the director of Pediatrics for Windber Hospital for many years as well as being an active staff member at Conemaugh Hospital. He was very passionate and dedicated in his work of treating all his patients as if they were his own family. His work with children kept him young at heart. Dr. B. was greatly loved and will be missed by many. Friends will be received from 3-7 p.m. on Friday and from 9 a.m. until time of service at 10 a.m. at Saturday at the Harris Funeral Home, with the Rev. Phyllis Diamond officiating. Private interment will be at Richland Cemetery. The family suggests contributions be directed to Windber Health Care Foundation – Pediatric Care, 600 Somerset Avenue, Windber, PA 15963 in memory of Dr. Masood Boroumand. I was in the process of tracking down my medical records today because I am looking for a new doctor. I just assumed you retired but the lady at the records department at windber hospital told me you passed away shortly after you retired. I am extremely sad about this, and you were honestly the best doctor anyone could ask for. You were always very nice and compassionate and called me little buddy. Rest easy doc.

He was a great dr and really saved my son when he had bronchiolitis at 9 months and he was always patient with my daughter. He always remembered my son doing his Hulk Hogan move. He always made me feel calm and like a good mom, never judged. He is truly missed.

Sorry to hear of the loss so late. I was thinking of him and how he took care of my son who had a severe unknown blood disorder at birth and how it was a blessing to find him. My son who was not expected to live is now 20. I thank it in part to God who led me to this wonderful man who eased my fears and exceeded all my hopes and prayers. May he rest in peace and I know he will be greatly missed. My son when he was two used to call him on the phone and he would come to speak to him. Masood was wonderful!

Dr B you were an angel on earth and now your an angel in heaven. I just found out you gained your wings. You were Mias dr from the day she was born. I never regretted that decision. I remember telling you last summer you couldnt retire until she was 18 and shes 12 now. It breaks our hearts. You were there when i called at 13 months old when she had 6 seizures. You drove to conemaugh and stayed with me until late in the evening educating me on epilepsy. You went with her for her MRI so she wasnt alone. You were more than a dr you were family. You helped us through her epilepsy and then in 2016 when we lost my mom and had to bring Mia for an anxiety attack you listened to her and held her as she cried. You told her as you listened to her heart your hurting because you have a good heart a strong heart a heart built to love. You told her that its ok to cry because when we cry its because we love so much. This momma stood there bawling at your compassion for her explaining death in a way she could understand. Then you hugged me like a friend and said how sorry you were. Well Dr B our hearts are full of sorrow now as we truly will miss you. You were one of a kind. I know your in heaven handing out animal crackers to all the littles in heaven greeting all your new little friends. We send you all our love Dr B. Fly with the angels my friend until we see you again.
