Dorothy Jean Barrett

BARRETT, Dorothy Jean, 95, of Johnstown, died on July 22, 2023, at Windber Hospice. Born August 8, 1927, in Neff Mills, Huntingdon County, she was the daughter of the late Charles Elmer and Irene (Warefield) Boonie. She was united in marriage to Devere D. Barrett, and they had three children, Dennis, Garry, and Pamela (John) Boderocco. She was preceded her in death by her husband, her two sons; and  siblings, Carmen, Charles Jr, David, Glenn, James, Paul, Mary, Maxine, Wayne, Wesley, and many friends. Jean is survived by her daughter, four grandchildren, and eight great grandchildren. Jean looked forward to having lunch with family from Huntington County, getting her hair done, and going to Shaffer’s for ice cream. She also enjoyed spending time with her best friend, Shirley Carothers, and other residents of Norwood Gardens. The family would like to thank Conemaugh Hospital, and her ICU nurse, Deanna, for the excellent care she received. Also, the family thanks Windber Hospice for the kind and compassionate care they provided. Family and friends received from 10 am until  time of service at 11 am Wednesday at Harris Funeral Home, 500 Cherry Lane, Richland. Pastor David Streets, officiating.
