Doris R. Taylor

Taylor, Doris R., 84, of Jackson Township, formerly of Mineral Point, passed away on July 30, 2011, at her residence. She was born on October 25, 1926 in Baltimore, MD. Daughter of Robert Lacy C. and Fannie Marie (Clark) McMullen. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her husband, John W. Taylor; son, John Daniel; siblings, Virginia , Robert J., Edward W., Richard L., Halbert W., Rose Marie, Frances, Violet, Mary Jane and Emma Elaine. Survived by her loving children, Richard E. McDowell Jr., and Lawrence L. McDowell both of Seward, Doris G., wife of Edward Kalinyak, East Taylor Township, Ronald G. McDowell, Johnstown, David M. Taylor, married to the former Geraldine Wachs, Mineral Point, Kim Taylor-Wolf, Columbia, SC, and Raymond A. Taylor, married to the former Diane Miller, Mineral Point; 10 grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; siblings, Patrick (Naomi) McMullen, Estelle McNicholas, and Frederick A. (Rosalie)  McMullen all Baltimore, MD. and numerous nieces and nephews. Doris was a member of Mineral Point United Methodist Church and the Jackson Township Senior Center. She enjoyed playing BINGO, board games and playing cards. Doris was a devoted mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and sister. Friends received from 3-7 P.M. on Tuesday and from 9 A.M. until time of service at 10 A.M. on Wednesday at the Baker-Harris Funeral Chapel, Conemaugh with the Rev. John H. Weaver officiating. Interment will be at Benshoff Hill Cemetery. The family suggests contributions be directed to Mineral Point United Methodist Church, 2134 William Penn Avenue, Johnstown, PA 15909 in memory of Doris.
