Dorcas L. Cypher

Cypher – Dorcas L., 86, Richland Township, went to be with the Lord on February 7, 2017 at Laurelwood Care Center. Born on November 1, 1930 in Six Mile Run, PA, daughter of Stanley E. and Myrtle E. (Foor) Wright. Preceded in death by her parents; husband, Willard B. Cypher; brothers, Ronald and Stanley, and a sister, Jean Sauders. She is survived by her loving sons, Gregory, and his special friend, Toni Coplin, both of Richland Township, and Jeff Sr., married to the former Shirlynn Rolley, Johnstown; grandsons, Jeff Jr. married to the former Mabel Piper, Irwin, PA, and Charles, married to the former Morgan Swalligan, Roxbury; great grandchildren, Abigail, Tabitha, Zachary, Lillian, Hunter, and Emma Grace; sisters, Maryann, wife of Hank Meetz, Chestnut Ridge, PA, Beatrice, wife of Richard Taylor, Roaring Springs, and Edith Wineland, Martinsburg, PA; brothers, Robert (Jenny), Everett, PA, Tom (Debbie), and Jerry (Percilla), all of Martinsburg, PA, and Joe (Debbie), Kerany, PA and several nieces and nephews. Dorcas retired after 21 years of service from the former Miracle Mart and Kings Department Store, where she was employed as a manager in the men’s department. She was a member of the Oakland United Methodist Church and the Richland American Legion, Post #849, Ladies Auxiliary. Dorcas was a volunteer for Meals on Wheels for many years. She enjoyed ceramics, gardening, and taking care of her yard and home. Dorcas loved her family dearly and always looked forward to visiting. She especially loved her Lord. Friends will be received from 3-7 p.m. on Thursday and from 10 a.m. until time of service at 11 a.m. at Friday at the Harris Funeral Home, Richland, with the Rev. Randall W. Bain officiating. Interment will be at Forest Lawn Memorial Park. The family suggests contributions be directed to the American Cancer Society, 351 Budfield Street, Johnstown, PA 15904 in memory of Dorcas.
