I had Mr. Batiste 1969, 70, 71, and 72 for Chorus Class. I loved his class. As a test we were called up one at a time to Sing solo. And of course I was the first one he chose. I couldnt even open my mouth. He knew I couldnt sing alone. My voice would shake. Told me if I didnt try I would fail. Of course I didnt sing. And no I didnt fail. I couldnt get over the stage fright. You will be sorely missed.

Never ever could sing and I still can't. I wish that was a gift I was given. But Mr Battisti always included me it made me feel a part of his team. Mr Battisti really made me try and I thank you so much for that. Such a great man. May you rest in peace. Love and prayers to your family. Thank you for all your service to windber high school and the community. You will be missed.

Prayers of peace and comfort to the Batiste family at this sad time of the loss of your loved one. I remember Mr. Batiste as a great band leader for Windber High. My sympathy and condolences go out especially to his loving wife Janet [ to whom we were friends and classmates of 1962.] God bless each one, sincerely, Doris [Hiteshew] Adams.
