David Joseph Romano

ROMANO-David Joseph, 72, Windber, passed away peacefully on June 16, 2023 in Windber after battling cancer.  Born September 18, 1950 in Johnstown. Preceded in death by parents Joseph and Amelia (DiBattista) Romano. He is survived by his loving wife of 35 years, Eloise (Mock) Romano, children, Ryan (Mallory) Romano, Pittsburgh; Marley (Brett) Oswalt, Pittsburgh; Chelsea (Donovan) Pepley, Aldie, VA; 6 grandchildren Marina, Emerson and Luciano Romano; Isabella and Daxton Pepley; Aria and awaited Aden Oswalt; brother of Lauren (Timothy) Miller; Mark (Patty) Romano; Joseph (Kay) Romano. Also survived by several cousins, nieces and nephews. David started his diverse and distinguished career at the family business UMF. He found his love for photography which he continued as a wedding photographer in college. David worked at TWA with the opportunity to travel around the world. He was part owner in Thiele’s and founded Laurel Computer Systems in 1984 and continued his business until present day. This business was instrumental in bringing new computer technologies to the city of Johnstown. From an early age David’s interest for anything mechanical or electrical was born. On any given day he could be found fixing up old jukeboxes and pinball machines. His other interests included days and discos at the lake, skiing, cooking and spending time with his family and grandkids. The family will receive friends from 2 to 8 p.m. Monday June 19th at Harris Funeral Home, 500 Cherry Lane, Richland and again from 10 a.m. until time of Funeral Service at 11 a.m. Tuesday, with Rev.
