PESSOLANO----David D., 56, Johnstown, went to be with the Lord on July 30, 2026 at home after a hard- fought courageous battle with glioblastoma. Born July 12, 1970, in Johnstown, son of James and Christine “Tina” Pessolano. Preceded in death by paternal grandparents, Luigi and Erma Pessolano, maternal grandparents, John and Helen Kowal, uncles, John Pessolano and Ed Kowal and in-laws, Sylvia and Andrew Kindya. David is survived by his loving wife of 25 years, Carla (Blair), who lovingly cared for Dave at their home since his diagnosis; parents, Jim and Tina Pessolano; sister, Diane Pessolano; uncle, Robert Pessolano (Judy); aunts, Emma King (Gene) and Monica Jones (Garfield); brother-in-law, Mark Blair (Heather); Kelly Kenley (Tom); A.J. Kindya (Vicky); nephews, Cole Blair and Chad Kenley; niece, Taylor Blair; cousins, Kristee and Kim and several cousins through marriage; and feline companion, Missie. Dave was a graduate of Richland High School, Somerset School of Radiology and the University of Virginia. He was a radiology technician for 30 years at Windber Hospital and was employed for the last 4 years at Memorial Medical Center until his diagnosis. He loved bike riding with his wife and family at the beach, listening to the music of Nirvana and Rush, visiting breweries locally and in Cumberland, Maryland, outdoor music venues and patronizing many local restaurants to enjoy chicken wings with siracha sauce and pizza. Most of all, Dave loved spending time with his high school friends and enjoying fires with all of his neighbors. Dave loved cheering on the Pittsburgh Steelers to victory. His wife and family would like to thank all the family, friends and neighbors for the outpouring of love, support, food, cards of encouragement and most especially prayers. A special thanks to Allegheny Health Network, Creighton Center, Palliative Care of Conemaugh, Conemaugh Home Health and AseraCare Hospice. Dave was treated with the utmost compassion and dignity until the end. Over the past 10 weeks that Dave and Carla were at home together, Carla made every effort for them to celebrate their 25th anniversary, Dave’s birthday and so many other milestones. She and Dave truly lived life during the last months they spent together. Carla was able to provide Dave the care he needed to remain at their home but she also made sure that Dave had the opportunity to enjoy many things that he loved. The family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 5 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, August 4, 2026 at Harris Funeral Home, 500 Cherry Lane, Richland.
