BERKEY---Dale A., 88, Richland Township, passed away peacefully in his sleep on December 16, 2020 at home. Born on February 17, 1932, in Johnstown, son of Frank and Cora (Paul) Berkey. Preceded in death by parents; brothers and sisters, Thelma, Wyona, Gerald, Paul and Wade and son-in-law, Robert Allison. Survived by wife of 63 years, Hattie (Berkey) whom he married on February 16, 1957; children, Kathy Allison, Windber; Ron Berkey (Tammy), Richland, Linda Bivens (Jeff), Richland; grandchildren, Mike (Kim) and Travis, Jessica (Dustin), Jody (P.J.), Chrissy, Nikkie and Dan; and 8 great-grandchildren. Brother of Feryl Berkey, Richland. Dale retired from the Richland Township road crew (Truck #7) after 33 years of service. Army veteran during Korean War era. He was a founding member of Solomon Run Fire Company. Member of Scalp Level Trinity United Methodist Church. Dale was a very caring and loving man who was appreciated by many and held dear in the hearts of all those who met him. He will be greatly missed. The family will receive friends on Monday December 21, 2020, at Harris Funeral Home, from 10 a.m. until time of Funeral service at 11:30 a.m. with Rev. Jim Sands officiating. Military rites will be accorded by the Conemaugh Valley Marine Corps League, Detachment #287. Entombment, Richland Mausoleum. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Amer.
