O’CONNOR---Constance Gene (Lees), 73, Johnstown, passed away peacefully at home on June 27, 2026. Born September 22, 1952, in Johnstown, daughter of Paul and Shirley (Hostetler) Lees. Preceded in death by parents. Survived by husband of 47 years, Leonard O’Connor; children, Sean O’Connor (Molly) and Carla O’Connor (Amber); brothers and sisters, Jim Lees (Sandy); MaryAlice “Cookie” Burtnett; Brian Lees (Cheryl); Sheila Berkebile (William); nieces and nephews, Troy Lees, Travis Lees (Kelli), Holly Sharp (Brad), Heather Maher (Brad); Brittney Lees; Kaia, Dakota, Sawyer, Ivy and Iris; Oliver and Benson. Connie graduated from Lock Haven University and majored in Theater Arts. After college, she joined the military and retired as a Chief Warrant Officer having served tours of duty all over the world. While in the military and raising 2 children, she went back to college and earned her Master’s Degree in Educational Development and Engineering with over 270 credits. After military retirement, Connie worked for the NDIC as a web developer. Mother and grandmother instilled in her a loved for sewing, crafting and quilting. Gardening was another passion—she earned her Master Gardner degree from Penn State! Still not done with the excitement of life, she also worked with her husband and children as the assistant director and stage manager for many theater productions and stage shows at the Arcadia Theatre---her favorite was working with the Children’s theater productions. Connie loved to go to camp and sit by the fire with family and friends telling stories over hot dogs and mountain pies. At Connie’s request, there will be no formal service or visitation. The family requests that in lieu of flowers, please plant a tree in Connie’s memory. The family is being served by Harris Funeral Home, 500 Cherry Lane, Richland.
