SPIKER---Cheryl A., 68, Salix, passed away on May 22, 2025 at Windber Woods. Born February 5, 1957, in Johnstown, daughter of Roy E. and Veleda A. (Todd) Layman. Preceded in death by parents and husband of 18 years, Barry L. Spiker. Survived by siblings, Carole Wolfhope, South Fork, PA; Sandra Mader and husband, Gary, Windber; Harlan R. Layman and wife, Sharon (Howarth), Myrtle Beach, SC; nieces and nephews, Renee Gentile (John), Rhode Island; Judy Nagy (Doug), Salix; Trudy McDevitt (Michael), St. Michael; Michelle Kostan (Jeff), Salix; Gary S. “Scott” Mader (Angel), Hollsopple; Brent Mader, Titusville; Jennifer Middlecoff (Troy), Harrisburg; and Eric Layman (Amy), Harrisburg. Also survived by numerous cousins and special friend, Ken Ohler. Cheryl worked for 28 years at Dutch Maid Bakery. She enjoyed knitting, walking and sewing. Former member of Park Avenue United Methodist Church. Current member of Salix Bethel Church, where a Memorial Service will be held at 11 a.m., Saturday, June 21, 2025 with Dr. Chad Brown officiating. The family is being served by Harris Funeral Home, 500 Cherry Lane, Richland. Cremation by Laurel Highlands Crematory at Harris Funeral Home. The family suggests memorial contributions to the Thomas E. Starzl Transplantation Institute, 3459 Fifth Ave., Pittsburgh, PA 15213 in memory of Cheryl A. Spiker.
