RIFILATO----Charles A. “Charlie,” 77, Richland, passed away on August 20, 2022 at Memorial Medical Center surrounded by his loving family. Born April 22, 1945, in Johnstown, son of Andrew and Irene (Costlow) Rifilato. Preceded in death by parents and sister, Mary Lou Valle. Survived by wife of 56 years, Betty (Finch) Rifilato, whom he married March 12, 1966; Melissa Pribulsky, wife of Dave, Salix; Renee Kerr (John Dysert), Richland; grandchildren, Courtney Shaffer, Sidman; Crystal Wagner, Richland; Tyler McCombie (Shanna), Beaverdale; Lauren and Kaitlyn Kerr, both of Richland; great-grandchild, Adalynn McCullough. Brother of James Rifilato (Rose), Richland. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Charlie was a 6-year veteran of the Pennsylvania Army National Guard. He worked as a crane operator for Bethlehem Steel Corp. for 30 years and he loved fishing, playing pool, softball, gardening and woodworking. Charlie was an avid Steelers, Penguins and Pirates fan and he enjoyed spending time with the family, especially at Prince Gallitzin. Member of St. Benedict Catholic Church, Geistown. The family will receive friends from 2 to 7 p.m. Thursday at Harris Funeral Home, 500 Cherry Lane, Richland, where vigil service will be held. Funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Friday, at St. Benedict Catholic Church, Geistown, with Fr. David S. Peles, Pastor. Entombment, Richland Mausoleum with military rites by Menoher VFW, Post #155 ritual team. Cremation by Laurel Highlands Crematory at Harris Funeral Home.
