Brenda Lee Varnish

72, Johnstown, went to be with the Lord on July 3, 2025 at Memorial Medical Center. Born on July 4, 1952 in Johnstown, son of the late James P Sr. and Irene B. (Strayer) Thompson. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by a sister, Susan I. Lehman.

She is survived by her loving son, Jason D. (Julie) Varnish, Pittsburgh; grandchildren, Jack and Addison Varnish, both of Pittsburgh; siblings, James P. (Carolyn) Thompson Jr., Diane E. (George) Gvozdich, Ronald L. (Darla) Thompson, David B. (Denise) Thompson, and Scott A. (Teresa) Thompson; brother-in-law, Thomas Lehman, and several nieces and nephews.

Brenda was a 1970 graduate of the Greater Johnstown High School. She was a member of First Lutheran Church. Brenda enjoyed traveling, reading, going to the beach, and shopping at Kohls. Brenda loved her entire family very much, especially her grandchildren.
