Betty Ruth Gillespie

Gillespie, Betty Ruth, 94, of Ross Lane, East Taylor Township.  Passed away August 31, 2017 at Laurelwood Care Center.  Born September 11, 1922 in East Conemaugh.  Daughter of the Late Ross and Gertie (Price) Hunt.  Also preceded in death by husband William T Gillespie; brothers Charles, Clair, and Richard; and sister Ella Jane.  Survived by children, Thomas married to Elaine (Barlow) of Spring Valley, Washington; Bonnie married to Dennis Blough of Johnstown, PA; Gloria married to John Werner of Sheffield, PA; and Gary of Delmont, PA.  Grandchildren, Joel, Tracie, Elizabeth, Vincent, Mark, William, and Megan.  Great grandchildren, Austin, Kira, Nathan, Jessica, Emma, Levi, Clarie, and Grace.  Sister of Donald Hunt of Vinco.  Betty Ruth retired from Lee Hospital as a Licensed Practical Nurse.  She was a member of the Conemaugh Grace Brethren Church where she served many years as church secretary, Sunday school teacher, and deaconess.  Betty Ruth enjoyed quilting, watching the Pittsburgh Pirates and Steeler, and her family. Friends received Tuesday Sept. 5, from 2-4 and 6-8 PM at Baker-Harris Funeral Chapel, Conemaugh and from 10 AM until time of service at 11 AM at Conemaugh Grace Brethren Church.
