Bernard C. Burnosky

Burnosky – Bernard C., “Bernie”, 90, Richland Township, went to be with the Lord on December 9, 2016 at Arbutus Park Manor. Born on September 3, 1926 in Beaverdale, PA, son of Martin P. and Anna G. (Hovanec) Burnosky. Preceded in death by his parents and brother, George. He is survived by his loving wife of 66 years, Maria J. (Bence) Burnosky, Richland Township; children, Cindy, wife of Jeff Repp, Export, PA, Alan, married to the former Laurie Petrunak, Richland Township, and Kevin, married to the former Brenda Miller, Richland Township; grandchildren, Chad, Mindy Luchini, Stacey Mytrysak, Jake and Tiffany Burnosky; great grandchildren, Seth, Jonah, Heath, and Lilly and several nieces and nephews. Bernie was a 1945 graduate of Beaverdale High School. He was a US Army Air Corps. Veteran serving during WW II. Bernie retired from Harris-Boyer Bakery where he was employed as a Driver and Salesman. He was a member of St. Benedict Catholic Church; life member of the Beaverdale American Legion Post #460, and Menoher Post #155 VFW. Bernie enjoyed Gardening, bowling, watching football, bus trips and sitting in his gazebo. He loved Beaverdale High School reunions and decorating for holidays. Friends will be received from 3-7 p.m. on Monday at the Harris Funeral Home, 500 Cherry Lane, Richland, where Vigil for the deceased will be held. Funeral Mass will be held at 1:30 p.m. on Tuesday at St. Benedict Catholic Church, Fr. David S. Peles, Pastor. Committal will be at Richland Cemetery Mausoleum with military rites conducted by Menoher Post #155 VFW Ritual Team. The family suggests contributions be directed to either Arbutus Park Manor, 207 Ottawa St, Johnstown, PA 15904 or to Windber Hospice, 600 Somerset Ave, Windber, PA 15963 or to St. Benedict’s Renovation Fund, 2310 Bedford Street, Johnstown, PA 15904 in memory of Bernie.
