Barbara L. Peruso

Peruso – Barbara L., 84, East Taylor Township, ended her earthly journey to be with our Lord and Savior, peacefully and gracefully while surrounded by her family on June 2, 2019. Born May 3, 1935 in New York City. Daughter of the late Alfred Sr. and Catherine (Choma) Kalina. Also preceded in death by her husband of 63 years, Russell M. “Rusty” Peruso Jr., and brother, Andrew Kalina. Survived by her children, Christine Zajdel, Michael L. (Brenda), Russell J. (Jill), David A. (Pat), and Carolyn “Chic” (Gary) Baker. Bubbie to 12 grandchildren; Nikita, Jonathan, Rebecca, Danielle, Uriah, Levi, Shiloh, Sarah, Alicia, Brenna, Samantha, and Katelyn. Sister of Alfred Kalina Jr., and Kathleen Livingston, both of East Taylor, as well as numerous cousins, nieces and nephews. Barb was a 1954 graduate of Franklin High School. She was a retired bank teller from First National Bank and later from Dr. Patti Ann Stefanick’s office. Barb was a member of St. Clare of Assisi Parish, choir, and Cantor. She was a former Judge of Elections for the East Taylor #1 Election Board. Barb was an avid Steeler and Penguin fan, enjoyed duck pin bowling, baking cookies for any occasion, reading, dancing and music. She especially loved having a house full of family and food and will be remembered for her fantastic sense of humor. Friends will be received from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. on Wednesday at Baker-Harris Funeral Chapel, 229-231 First Street, Conemaugh. Funeral Mass will be held at 9 a.m. on Thursday at St. Clare of Assisi Catholic Church, Maple Ave., Fr. Matthew E. Misurda, Pastor. Committal will be at St. Anthony Cemetery, Geistown.
