Aurora A. Ochoco

Ochoco - Aurora A. 90, Richland Township - Johnstown, PA, went with our Lord and Savior on April 24, 2021. She was born on September 12, 1930 in Agoo, La Union, Philippines. She was the daughter of the late, Maximino B. and Simona L. Alban. Preceded in death by her loving husband, Severino M. Ochoco; sisters, Felicitas L. Alban, Pacita T. and husband, Pastor L. Panay, Remedios T. and husband, Mariano B. Carino, and Lourdes T. and husband, Lelito B. Bacungan. She is survived by her loving children, Lillian Ochoco-Cavanaugh, M.D. and husband, Francis J. Cavanaugh, M.D. Rolando A. Ochoco, Filmore A. Ochoco and wife, Linda G. Nebgen-Ochoco, and Joy A. Ochoco. Grandmother of Sean O. Cavanaugh, M.D. and wife Victoria A. Cavanaugh, Caitlin M. Cavanaugh, DVM, Gabrielle K. Ochoco, Madison J. Ochoco, and Sydney H. Ochoco. Great grandmother of Oliver F. Cavanaugh and Lena J. Cavanaugh. She was a member of St. Benedict Catholic Church, Geistown, PA. Aurora graduated with a Bachelor of Arts in Education from Congress College, Agoo, La Union, Philippines. She taught at Greater Johnstown Vocational Technical School, assisted at the University of Pittsburgh at Johnstown Library, and was involved in the Head Start program. She retired after many years of service from Appalachia IU8, Ebensburg teaching children with special needs. A private viewing and Vigil Service was held from 2-4 p.m. on Wednesday (April 28, 2021) at Harris Funeral Home, 500 Cherry Lane, Richland. A private funeral Mass was held at 1:30 p.m. on Thursday (April 29, 2021) at St. Benedict Catholic Church, Fr. David S. Peles, Pastor. Private Committal was at Richland Cemetery.
