Audrey June Bates

Bates - Audrey June, 95, Windber, went to be with the Lord on March 25, 2024. She was born December 27, 1928, in Windber, PA, to Alexander and Florence (Delozier) Thompson. Preceded in death by parents, husband Charles (Chuck) Bates, mother-in-law Cora Bates, sisters, Garnell and husband Arthur Henderson, Kathleen and husband Robert Kolodgy; brother-in-law, William Lawson, and nephew Forest Scott Henderson.

Survived by son, Mark of Windber; daughter, M'Liss and husband Mike Pearrow and grandson, Jack all of Pittsburgh; sister, LaRue Lawson, Richland Twp. and several nieces, nephews, and "The Greats"

She was a graduate of Windber High School. June retired from First Commonwealth Bank. She was a past Worthy Matron of The Order of the Eastern Star. June was a lifetime member of the former First Presbyterian Church, Windber, where she served as church secretary for many decades. She loved her Black and Gold Steelers, Penguins and Pirates. June spent many hours crocheting baby booties for all of her nieces and nephews and their children's children, along with others who were special to her. She will be sadly missed by all.

Friends will be received from noon until time of service at 1 p.m. on Thursday at the Harris Funeral Home, 500 Cherry Lane, Richland, with the Rev. Scott Hoffman officiating. Interment will be at Richland Cemetery. Online condolences may be posted to www.wharrisfuneralhome.com.
