Kyler – Ardell B., “Lefty” “Bopp”, 90, Belmont, went to be with the Lord on January 15, 2022. Born on May 16, 1931 in Shawville, PA, son of Orville B. and Maude E. (Record) Kyler. Preceded in death by his parents, and brother, Orville. He is survived by his loving wife of 68 years, Anna G. (Thompson) Kyler, Johnstown; children, Gregory A. (Bonnie), Seward, PA., Judy A. (Bill) Burnworth, Windber, Nancy E. Kyler, Richland, and Patricia L. (Ron) Merle, Seward; grandchildren, Britton (Stacy) Burnworth, Hollsopple, PA, Laura (Adam) Heming, New Florence, PA, Ryan Merle, Seward, PA; great grandchildren, Aidan and Tyler Burnworth, and Colton and McCoy Hughes; sisters-in-law, Helen MacDowell and Dorothy Thompson; brother-in-law, Clair Thompson, and several nieces and nephews. Ardell was a 1949 graduate of Clearfield High School. He was a US Navy Veteran serving during the Koran War. Ardell also graduated from Indiana Institute of Technology with a Bachelors Degree in Electrical Engineering. He completed the Power System Engineering Course at General Electric in Schenectady, NY. Ardell served several years as Chairman of PA Electric Association, and the State Trade Association of Investor-Owned Electric Utilities. He retired from PENELEC as a Manager of Planning. Ardell was a member of Belmont United Methodist Church for over 60 years, where he served as Trustee for many years. He was also a member of Lodge #138 F&AM, Clearfield, PA Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite, Altoona, PA, and Tall Cedars of Lebanon. He enjoyed spending time with his cat, Oliver and his Golden Retrievers, yard work, and gardening. Ardell always available to his friends and neighbors and was fixing something even bikes for children. More than anything he loved spending time with his wife and entire family. Friends will be received from 3-7 p.m. on Thursday at the Harris Funeral Home, 500 Cherry Lane, Richland and from 10 a.m. until time of service at 11 a.m. on Friday at Belmont United Methodist Church, with the Rev. David Evans officiating. Entombment will be at Richland Mausoleum with military rites conducted by Menoher Post #155 VFW Ritual Team. The family suggests contributions be directed to either Belmont United Methodist Church, 107 Coldren St, Johnstown, PA 15904 or to the Humane Society of Cambria County, 743 Galleria Dr Ext, Johnstown, PA 15904 in memory of Ardell.
