April Lee Kalvitis

KALVITIS----April Lee, Johnstown, PA, died peacefully at home June 18, 2020. Born on April 17, 1982, in Somerville, New Jersey, daughter of Gregory and Soonam Kalvitis of Cuenca, Ecuador; Survived by her beloved daughter, Catelyn Lee Kiefreider, Berlin, NJ grandparents, Dean and Thelma Huff, Williamstown, NJ;; brother, Aaron Kalvitis, Moorestown, NJ; aunts and uncles, Theodore and Stephanie Kalvitis, Romney, WVA; Lynda and Thomas Durisek, Jefferson, OH; Kelly and Milton Washington, Trevose, PA; Kevin and Vicki Huff, Franklinville, NJ; Sillo and Dr. Mark Marshall, Salisbury, CT; and cousins, Emily and Brorhie Erekaife, Winchester, VA. April grew up in Mount Holly and Browns Mills, New Jersey and graduated valedictorian from Pemberton Township High School in 2000. April was a kind and generous person. She had a winning smile that set everyone she met at ease. April had a great sense of humor. She was an empathetic listener who made you feel that you had the complete attention of both her mind and heart. She was creative and very artistic, even at a young age. Her doodles were a work of art. She loved animals of all kinds. You never could tell what orphaned animal she might bring home…from a 100 lb Rottweiler pup to a small, but growing iguana, whom she named “Strong Bad.” April struggled to deal with the challenges of life in this old world. We know that her struggles have ended for now and that she is resting, awaiting her resurrection in the paradise earth soon to come. (Acts 24:15) (Revelation 21 3-5).

Dear Kalvitis family,
I just heard of Aprils passing today. Its brought back so many memories of childhood sleepovers. She was probably my closest friend as a kid. I thought of her recently and wondered how she was doing. Im very sad she is gone. It would have been nice to catch up 20 years or so-lol. But now she is in the memory of her Creator. I long to see her again very soon in paradise. We will have a lot more to talk about then ;) My thoughts and prayers to Greg, Soonam & Aaron. Love , Rachel Rivera (Thoreen)

Singing Walking on Sunshine...that face Grandpa taught her to make...I got my older! on the school bus at the Apple Festival...driving home from a meeting in my old convertible...Tom remembers when we rode a raft with April, Soonam and Catelyn at a water park & her running out to Dunkin to get us coffee every morning of our visit. I will miss her beautiful smile...her all in hugs...Her love of animals and creatures of all sorts...like me she couldnt kill a fly...her incredible artistic talent...but most of all her heart of gold...such a generous spirit...always wanting to make others happy.
The one thing that dries my tears is knowing that her next thought will be Wow! I woke up in the New World! Theres my family! I feel great! Theres so many animals! Can I hold that tiger cub?
See you in the New World sweet April!
All our love, Aunt Lynda and Uncle Tom
