POMPANELLA----Anne Mary (Crowley), 77, of Geistown, entered eternal life on Monday, January 24, 2022, at the Village of Nanty Glo. Born on November 11, 1944, in Philadelphia, daughter of Edward F. and Alma G. (Ulshafer) Crowley. Preceded in death by parents. Survived by husband, Frank (Francis), to whom she was wed for 57 years; daughter, Karen, with longtime companion, Howard Schrader, White Plains, MD, and granddaughter, Kayleigh of New Market, MD. Sister of Agnes Reed, Havertown, PA and George (Marie), Upper Darby, PA. Anne retired from Westmont Hilltop School District where she worked in several secretarial positions for 15 years. Anne was an intelligent, talented woman of many interests. Among them, she loved planting and caring for flowers. An avid reader, she had an incredible knowledge of history, especially the Civil War. She read her Bible daily. Anne was an excellent seamstress, even sewing Karen’s wedding gown, as well as gowns for all of the bridesmaids. She excelled at cake decorating, including decorating several wedding cakes. Anne won several awards for her decorating. Special thanks to the administration and staff at The Village of Nanty Glo who went the “extra mile” to provide her excellent care and concern. Also, thanks to 365 Hospice who cared for her in her final weeks. Anne was a longtime active member of St. Benedict Church, Geistown, where she volunteered many hours including CCD secretary, former member of the St. Vincent de Paul Society, Reunion volunteer, and most recently, as a Eucharistic Minister. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to St. Benedict Church. The family will receive friends from 2 to 6 p.m. Wednesday at Harris Funeral Home, 500 Cherry Lane, Richland, where vigil will be held. Funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Benedict Catholic Church, with Fr. David S. Peles, celebrant. Committal, Richland Mausoleum.
