Whitaker, Annabelle M., 88, Arbutus Park Retirement Community, Richland, formerly of Windber. Died May 17, 2011, at home. Born March 26, 1923, in Ogletown. Preceded in death by parents Lewis Baumgardner and Anna (Seese); Husband Mervin L. Whitaker; Sisters Vera Davis and Fern Buese, Brother Lewis “Bud” Baumgardner, Jr. Survived by Daughters; Deborah, wife of Tim Olson, Friedens, Pa. and Betsy, wife of J. Michael Cramer, San Luis Obispo, Ca.; Grandchildren Erik, Rochester, NY and Christopher, St. Paul, MN.; Sister Evelyn wife of Robert Varner, Ebensburg; Brothers Elmer Baumgardner and wife Doris, Chambersburg, Pa. and Glenn Baumgardner and wife Mary Louise, Lansing, MI. Also numerous nieces and nephews and good friends Christine Olsen and David Smith. Retired from Windber Area School District as a Business Education Teacher. Member of Calvary United Methodist Church in Windber; Arbutus Park Manor Auxiliary Board and Pennsylvania Association of Retired Teachers. Friends received from 3:00 P.M. to 7:00 P.M. Friday at the Harris Funeral Home, 500 Cherry Lane, Richland, and from 10:00 A.M. to 11:00 A.M. Saturday, time of service at Calvary United Methodist Church, Stockholm Ave, Windber, Pa. Pastor Hyung-Suk Joe, officiating. Entombment at Richland Cemetery Mausoleum. Family suggests donations to Arbutus Park Retirement Community, 207 Ottawa St., Johnstown, Pa. 15904 or the Salvation Army, 576 Vine St., Johnstown, Pa. 15901 in memory of Annabelle Whitaker.
