Alfred L. Fronzoli

Fronzoli, Alfred L., 76, Richland Township, passed away on Mar. 5, 2022 at Conemaugh Memorial Medical Center. Born April 21, 1945 in Johnstown. Son of the late Amleto “Mike” Fronzoli and Annie Catherine Hershberger. Also preceded in death; sister Ruby Jean Fronzoli and sister Doris (Fronzoli) Maurer. Survived by his loving wife of 53 years, Sharon (Hancock) Fronzoli; daughter Joy Fronzoli; son Seth Fronzoli. Brother of Mary Jane Beisel (Lee), Donald Fronzoli (Patricia), Bonnie Davis (John Kiser), and many nieces and nephews. Al was a 1964 graduate of Richland High School, where he participated in track, field and football. Over the course of his career, Al worked in various industries as a truck driver, auto body mechanic and welder. He retired from the US Army National Guard as a Staff Sargent, after 23 years of service. Lovingly known as “Butch”, by close family and friends, he and his high school sweetheart Sharon were married on October 25, 1968. They were long-time season ticket holders to Johnstown hockey over many decades in Section 20 of the War Memorial. Al was an avid fan of golf, serving as a caddy at North Fork Country Club in his youth, as well as auto racing, western films featuring John Wayne and Clint Eastwood, and mountain man Jeremiah Johnson. He enjoyed the music of Jim Croce, John Denver, Johnny Cash and The Bee Gees. The family wishes to thank the staff of the Conemaugh Memorial Medical Center for their loving care. The family will receive friends from 3 to 7 pm Thursday at Harris Funeral Home, 500 Cherry Lane, Richland, where service will be held at 10:30 am Friday. Rev. William C. Thwing, officiating. Interment with committal service and military rites by the Marine Corps League at Richland Cemetery. Family suggests donations to the Salvation Army or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
