Alex S. "Herky" Goodman

GOODMAN---Alex S. “Herky,” 70, Johnstown, died September 16, 2020. Born Nov. 21, 1949 in Johnstown, son of the late Ralph “Red” and Alverda (Barringer) Goodman. Preceded in death by sister, Naomi Muscardelli and niece, Roxann Oaks. Survived by son, Christopher, married to Krista (Pisarski) and grandson, Bryce, who was his pride and joy. Brother of Eleanor Thomas, Portage; Iva Hays and Joan Goodman, both of Florida; Richard Goodman, married to Sandy (Hollsopple), Bedford; and Ralph, married to Denise (Laskosky), Johnstown. Also survived by several nieces and nephews and former wife, Deborah (Petak) Goodman, Johnstown. Alex was a 1969 graduate of Johnstown High School. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran having served in the Vietnam conflict. He worked for 30 years for Bethlehem Steel. Alex loved fishing, hunting, camping and going to his grandson’s sporting events. He was a member of Beulah United Methodist Church, and he truly loved his church. The family suggests memorial donations to Beulah United Methodist Church in memory of Alex S. Goodman. At Alex’s request, there will be no visitation or funeral service. A memorial service will be held at a later date. Cremation by Laurel Highlands Crematory at Harris Funeral Home, 500 Cherry Lane, Richland. The family is being served by Harris Funeral Home, Richland.
