Robert Wilson

June 3, 1950 — November 17, 2021

WILSON—Robert F., “Robin,” “Rob,” or “Bob,” a life-long Johnstown resident, passed away on November 17, 2021, after a long battle with cancer at the age of 71. Born on June 3, 1950, son of Charles and Rebecca (Findlay) Wilson. Preceded in death by parents; brother-in-law, Robert Stuart and in-laws, Anthony and Mary Wyszynsky. He is survived by wife, Beverly (Wyzynsky), daughters, Donna Wilson, Hillary Beach (Daniel), and grandchildren, Piper and Findlay; also survived by siblings, Roberta (Wilson) Stuart, Charles David Wilson (Mary), James Wilson (AnnMarie), numerous nieces and nephews and man’s best friend, the family dog, Darcy. During his illness, Rob enjoyed visits from his dear friends, Walt and Mary and his brother, Jim. Rob was a patriot, serving in the National Guard. He was a tinkerer, ever under the hood of a car, boat, or fixing up the house. Fulfilling a lifelong dream, Rob, Beverly and Donna navigated the Allegheny River in Rob’s boat past Donna’s home. It was something he planned and dreamed of for many years. Recently, when his illness stalled a bit, and a miracle seemed to be in front of him, he was able to visit Hillary and Dan’s new house and to see Donna’s new car. Rob’s mind was put at ease and this gave him great happiness. He served his community with all manner of computer related problems with his company Electronic Repair Service and at CAMCO where he retired in 2020. He was a dedicated, lifelong friend and enjoyed throwing darts, having a drink and chatting with friends at the Harmonie Club, boating, and the annual camping trip at Raystown. Rob was an avid Penguins/Steelers fan, attending games when he could or watching the games at home with his wife or with friends at the Club. Rob was second to none in storytelling, and entertaining Pap’s “wooden-headed dummies” with made-up songs. The family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until time of Funeral Service at 11:30 a.m. Monday at Harris Funeral Home, 500 Cherry Lane, Richland, with Rev. James Farrer officiating. Committal, Grandview Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests memorial donations to the places that gave us many more days with Pap. Hillmanresearch.com.upmc.edu/giving http://www.johnstownwalkofhope.com/, and to give blood/platelets so other families may be as fortunate as ours. Online condolences may be posted at www.wharrisfuneralhome.com. Due to the current pandemic, the family recommends masks be worn.
