CARNELL—William C. III, 49, Richland, passed on July 6, 2021 at Memorial Medical Center. Born January 27, 1972, in Johnstown son of William II and Patricia (Henry) Carnell. Preceded in death by father, William Carnell II, great friend, Sam Contakos and loving canine companion, Cuddles. Survived by mother, Patricia (Henry) Carnell, Westmont; children, William J. Carnell, Johnstown; Katelyn E. Hammack (Ty) and their daughter, Abigail, Norfolk, VA; and Rebecca R. Carnell (Phil), Johnstown; stepdaughter, Alana Hinton (special friend, Noah), Johnstown; and loving fiancé, Lisa Machak. Brother of Sharan Jasper, Altoona; Harriet “Emily” Lohr (Doug), Westmont; and Patricia “Sissy” (Carnell), Florida. Also survived by aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and good friends, Tim George, John Shander, John Yeager, Ivan and Stefania Valentini, Jen (Walkup) Misero, Todd and Sara Burda, Stacy Servaty, Spencer Lawton, Allanda Monnig, JeanMarie Spinale, Donna and Peter Delp de Pitman, Kevin Bailey Sr., Pastor Ray Streets Jr. and many, many others. Also survived by loving canine companions, Holly and Wonky. 1989 graduate of Westmont High School. 1993 graduate of Conemaugh Valley Memorial Hospital School of Nursing and a 1994 graduate of the Paramedic program at Conemaugh. Graduate of WGU with a bachelor of science in nursing. Bill worked as a registered nurse in many capacities, including flight, cruise ship, ER, ICU, Med Surg., travel nurse, Cath Lab, OR and pre hospital nursing. He travelled the world providing compassionate and loving care with his straight forward and sarcastic mannerisms. He was an instructor in nursing in many capacities over the years. Past president Somerset Hospital’s union. Owner of Advanced Housing, Johnstown. He enjoyed spending time with his family and new granddaughter, flipping houses, woodworking, motorcycling, ATVs, traveling the world, fishing and most importantly, helping others. Memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday at Crucified Ministries (The Journey Church), Woodvale, with Pastor Ray Streets Jr. officiating. Cremation by Laurel Highlands Crematory at Harris Funeral Home, 500 Cherry Lane, Richland.
