LANG, Emmett Scott, 65, of Westmont, passed away suddenly and went to be with the Lord on July 24, 2020. Born Sept. 23, 1954, in Wheeling, WV. Son of the late Emmett T. and Eloise (Hawkins) Lang of Westmont. Also preceded in death by sister Judith Garber of Allentown PA and several aunts and uncles. Survived by brothers Jon Lang (Carole) of Arizona, Jay Steven Lang (Sara) of Acme and brother-in-law Richard Garber of Allentown. Nieces and nephews Julie Garber, Robin James (Rodney), Kathryn McKinnon (John), Jon Douglas Lang and Jeffrey Lang (Dawn). Also, several cousins and many cherished friends. Emmett Scott graduated from Westmont High School and attended Mt. Aloysius College and Penn State. He was a member of Westmont Presbyterian Church prior to living in Florida most of his life where he was a member of Church in the Son. In 2015 he moved back to PA, first to Siemons Nursing Home, then Laurelwood Care Center. As a youth he was active in Scouting and on the high school tennis team. In college he studied music, voice, and art and was in Choir. After high school he had the adventure of a lifetime with a career at Walt Disney World, mostly as a waiter in their fine dining restaurants and others, and enjoying Disney and other theme parks. After a stroke and rehabilitation, he reaffirmed his Christian faith and started the God-1st Home Ministry where he shared the Word witnessing to others. He enjoyed accompanying his dear father Emmett T. Lang to several 84th Infantry Division of the Army “Railsplitters” reunions around the country. Emmett Scott had an amazing sense of humor, deep faith in God, and was kind, and caring to all. He enjoyed Bible study, music, theater and helping others. He showed courage and determination in physical therapy sessions to retain mobility. Recently his paintings were featured in local shows. He will be deeply missed by all family and friends.
