March 22, 1943 ~ December 28, 2020 (age 77)


RAGNO---Anthony J. “Tony,” 77, Johnstown, went to be with the Lord on December 28, 2020 at Windber Woods. Born on March 22, 1943 in Johnstown, PA, son of Joseph A. Ragno and Angela (Ragno) Sakmar. Preceded in death by parents and half-sister, Donna. He is survived by sisters, Roberta (Mike) Brosig, Johnstown; Karen (Harry) Ramm, Florida; and brother, Robert Sakmar, Johnstown; half-sisters and brothers, Bridget (Bill) Machowski, Rosemary (Robert) Davis, Joan (Christopher) Messina, Ann DiMarco, Joseph (Eva) Ragno, and John (Deborah) Ragno and loving nieces and nephews, and great nieces and nephews. Tony was a 1962 graduate of Johnstown High School. He was a US Navy Veteran serving on the aircraft carrier USS Enterprise, on which he circumnavigated the world.  He was a driver for the former Monarch Towel Company. Retired from the City of Port St. Lucie, Florida Parks Department. He was a volunteer Sports Coach for Special Olympics. He loved biking on the Rails to Trails, his dog, Sammy, and working in his yard. Thanks to the Staff of Windber Woods for being his “family” while we were not able to be with him.Private viewing with family. Member of St. Benedict Catholic Church, Geistown where friends and family are welcome to attend the Funeral Mass on Saturday, January 2, 2021 at 10:00AM. Fr. David S. Peles, Pastor.
