Pruchnic, Dr. William F., 76, Upper Yoder, Died Dec. 16, 2019, at home. Born Nov. 14, 1943, in Windber, son of the late Stanley and Grace (Ramsey) Pruchnic. Also preceded in death by son, Christian. Survived by wife of 52 years, Carol A. (Urbas), son, Dr. Timothy F. Pruchnic, Bangor, Maine. Brother of Stanley Jr. (Mary Lou), Donald; Allen “Butch” (Nancy) and Dr. Albert (Sharon). 1961 graduate of Windber High School. He trained as an X-ray technician at Windber Hospital. Graduate of the University of Pittsburgh and the Milton S. Hershey Medical School. He completed the four-year residency program at Cleveland Clinic. Bill worked as a compassionate endocrinologist for over 40 years in the area. A highlight of his career was teaching residents at Conemaugh Hospital. Bill greatly enjoyed the outdoors, especially hiking with his sons, hunting, fly fishing and gardening. The family will receive friends from 1 to 6 p.m. Thursday at Harris Funeral Home, 500 Cherry Lane, Richland. Funeral Mass will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at St. Andrew’s Catholic Church, Fr. Angelo Patti officiating. Private committal, Grandview Mausoleum. In lieu of flowers, family suggests memorial contributions to St. Jude’s Research Center or American Diabetes Association in memory of Bill Pruchnic.
