Areas of Special Concern
It's unfortunate, but true that many families do not receive the benefits to which they are entitled when one dies. All too often, survivors are unaware of the claims and benefits that apply in their situation. Therefore, no matter what funeral plans you make, it's important to keep good records and to be sure that loved ones know where records are kept.
Drawing a Will is Important. Every adult should have a will, regardless of age or financial situation. A will is a legal document that can prevent many serios problems for those you leave behind. If you do not have a will, you should plan to have one drawn up as soon as possible. It's in your own and your family's best interests.
Benefits. The two most common and often overlooked types of benefits are Social Security and Veteran Benefits. These benefits are not automatically paid, and you must apply for them. Since there are many different benefits and qualifications for each, it's best to discuss your situation personally with one of our pre-need counselors.
