William G. Harris

William G. Harris

President, Supervisor, Licensed Funeral Director, Certified Crematory Operator

William G. "Bill" Harris, the President and owner of Harris Funeral Homes, personally offers families over 45 years of experience and professionalism in the field of funeral management and planning. Receiving his Funeral Director License in 1972, Mr. Harris founded Harris Funeral Home in 1980 at 921 Scalp Ave. 

In addition to the Scalp Avenue location, Harris also purchased the John A. Baker Funeral Chapel in East Conemaugh, Pennsylvania in 1986, now known as the Baker-Harris Funeral Chapel. Mr. Harris makes sure that the families served at this location receives the same level of attention and benefits that is offered at the main office in Richland. The present day location of Harris Funeral Home is located at 500 Cherry Lane, which was acquired by Mr. Harris in 1993. Since dedicating his life-service to helping families in need, words such as "commitment, dedication, and compassionate care" have become synonymous with the Harris name.

Mr. Harris serves on the State Board of Funeral Directors as Chairman.

Deborah A. Harris

Corporate Secretary/Treasurer

Debbie Harris takes part in decisions of the business and is responsible for accounts payable, payroll, banking, mail, etc. and provides invaluable service for the smooth operation of service to our community. She is a past board member and former volunteer at the Cambria County Humane Society and spent 20 years of leadership working the flea market for the annual St. Benedict Parish Reunion. As a pet lover she has been instrumental in acquiring a separate and dedicated pet crematory on the funeral home property.

John C. Harris

John C. Harris

Funeral Director/Consultant

John is a graduate of Richland High School, Pittsburgh Institute of Mortuary Science and Point Park University with a Bachelors degree in Funeral Management. He served his internship with a large funeral home in Pittsburgh and also gained experience in the Philadelphia area. John is presently gaining more business experience in Jackson Wyoming along with pursuing his passion of skiing and fly fishing in his off time. He communicates almost daily with his parents and adds great advice in operation of the funeral home. John also assists at the funeral home when in Johnstown.

Supervisor, Licensed Funeral Director, Preplanning Consultant

Daniel Kovacs, Funeral Director at Baker-Harris Funeral Chapel has been involved with serving families in need since 1989. A graduate of Pittsburgh Institute of Mortuary Science, Daniel joined the Harris Family in 1999. Daniel possess the ability to work with families of different ethnicities and cultures, and speaks Hungarian and Spanish fluently.

Janette Renee LaBar

Janette Grasso LaBar grew up in Cover Hill, where her parents still live, and now resides in Richland with her husband and four children.  A 1993 graduate of Bishop McCort High School, 2003 graduate of the University of Pittsburgh with a Bachelor of Art degree in Environmental Science, and a 2005 graduate of the Pittsburgh Institute of Mortuary Science with an Associate degree in Funeral Service Arts and diploma in Funeral Directing and Embalming.  Familiar with all aspects of the funeral business Janette has been working in the industry since 2001 and will help families with whatever their needs.  She is a member of Cathedral Catholic Home School Association, Girl Scouts Western Pennsylvania, and SS. Gregory and Barnabas Parish.

Ron Mlinarchik

Ron Mlinarchik

Funeral Assistant/Certified Crematory Operator

Ron Mlinarchik grew up in Cover Hill and graduated from Conemaugh Valley High School.  He now resides on Benshoff Hill.  Ron is a United States Army Veteran and retired Post Master from the U.S. Post Office. He has worked for the Baker-Harris Funeral Chapel for over 31 years, part time while still employed with the Post Office, then full time after his retirement.  Ron performs many duties at both the Conemaugh and Richland locations, he enjoys working with families during their time of need.  Ron is coordinator of the Tombstone Hearse rentals and provides a very dignified motorcycle enthusiast funeral service.

Funeral Assistant

David Mishler is originally from Davidsville, but now resides in Richland Township.  He is a retired truck driver from Ward Trucking with over 29 years of service.  Dave has been with the Harris Funeral Home for over 8 years.  He helps with many jobs around the funeral home and also serves as a Tombstone Hearse driver.
